Anar Youth Gender Violence Phoneline/Chat

The ANAR Foundation and Ministry of Equality have worked together since 2009 under a joint agreement to handle cases of gender violence where there is a child involved.

Many of the calls connected with this type of case are received via the ANAR 900 20 20 10 Phoneline and Chat.

Under an agreement with the Ministry, the 016 phoneline (for Victims of Gender Violence and Abuse) also refers all calls involving gender violence where the victim is aged under 18 to the ANAR Phoneline.

Who do we help via this phoneline?

Mothers who are victims of gender violence and are worried about how their children are affected by the situation
Children worried about the gender violence suffered by their mothers.
Teenagers suffering gender violence from a boyfriend or girlfriend.

The number of calls seeking specific guidance about gender violence has increased significantly since 2009.
